Milano-Sanremo marks the unofficial start of spring. La Primavera is the first of 5 Monuments on the cycling calendar. Many legends were created on the roads of the 300km race and the iconic "Capi" alongside the coast of Liguria.

The main favorites for the 2021 edition were: Wout Van Aert, Michael Matthews, Mathieu van der Poel, Julian Alaphilippe and Christophe Laporte.
