Days after Hurricane Ian departed Central and Southwest Florida the storm's torrential rains continued to cause flooding throughout the region. In Arcadia, the floodwaters blocked western routes. In Southwest Florida cities like Venice, Englewood and Northport, the water flooded highway exits and major thoroughfares. Florida's governor called it a 500-year flood.
