Walking the red carpet is a celebrity’s chance to show off their style, kind of like a runway. And in the world of celebrity, making a statement is like currency, and the easiest way to do that is on a carpet using fashion.

Sometimes making a statement means taking risks that could lead to a wardrobe malfunction in front of the world of cameras, while others just leave us speechless. In this video we are taking a look back at some of the most outrageous, but very iconic red carpet looks our favorite celebs have worn over the years.

From Bjork’s swan dress at the 2001 Oscars to A$AP Rocky wearing a quilt at the Met Gala. Some of these celeb looks leave you with more questions than answer, like was Nicki Minaj wearing any shoes on the 2011 VMAs red carpet?

We’re also wondering if Rihanna, Megan Fox, and Miley Cyrus were cold in their barely-there dresses. There are some looks that even the celebs themselves were a little nervous about, like Bella Hadid and her golden lungs necklace, while other didn’t even think twice about their soon-to-be iconic, like JLo in the only green dress worth talking about in the last couple decades. These celebs aren’t afraid to take risks and we love that for them!
