Nowdays we don't get a lot of Star Wars game releases, but back in the 2000's it seemed like there was a new Star Wars game every few months. Anything from Role Playing Games to Real Time Strategy Games and even racing games were released. The most famous Star Wars racing games are the Podracer series, but many forget that on the PlayStation 2 there was also a release of Star Wars Super Bombad Racing.
This was basically a Mario Kart style game set in the Star Wars universe. Everything looks extra cartoony with all the characters having giant heads and the various levels being colorful and vibrant. The game is set during The Phantom Menace so you will race through locations from the movie including Naboo, Tatooine and the Droid Battle Ships.
Back when it released it got absolutely trashed and many consider it amongst the worst Star Wars games out there. To be honest I really liked this game and enjoyed playing it again so I could add it to the archives. Probably the worst thing about the game is that it does not have that much content with only 9 racing courses in total. There are some fun battle mode arenas to unlock, but I can see how this might not have been worth 60 bucks back when it was released.
But if you can find it second hand nowadays for a decent price I think it is well worth your time. The game is pleasant to the eye, plays very smoothly and is overal a great time for the average Star Wars fan.
