The DS7 is a direct rival to premium SUVs from BMW, Mercedes and Audi. That's tough competition by any measure, but DS, which is part of Stellantis, is becoming an increasingly impressive presence in the premium car market, and the latest 7 is one of its best models yet.

Adding to its appeal, the DS7 offers not one but three plug-in hybrid options, providing buyers with more choice than its rivals. Not only that, but the DS also has a usefully bigger boot than many of its plug-in competitors, and there's a very generous level of standard equipment. In PHEV models company car drivers will enjoy considerable tax benefits compared with an equivalent petrol or diesel SUV, and because the DS’s list prices are a bit less than the plug-in hybrid competition, the savings stand to be even bigger.
