A Dodge truck was out getting firewood when it got stuck in the mud in the Volcanic ash flats, so Chevy was brought in to pull it out, but got stuck as well. Then the Ford came along to get the both of them and also got stuck. All three were heavy Diesel trucks and sunk to the frames, so there was a Cummins, a Duramax, and a Powerstroke all in a row. Unfortunately some very cold weather came in that night and the mud turned to ice, freezing the trucks in place. A couple days after they got stuck, I took my @Jeep TJ-6 down to see if I could them out.
With them being frozen so hard into the ground, all three were VERY hard pulls with the @harborfreight Badlands winch, but by using the other trucks as anchors I was able to get them all out. I did have one issue when one of my cheap Amazon special soft shackles pulled apart while not even close to its rated load. So I replaced is with a @YankumRopes soft shackle and put twice as much pull on it without issue. Quality gear definitely matters and I learned a cheap lesson with that failure.
