“Everyone is afraid. But what is there to do? Of course, everyone has fear, but you need to keep working. How can you be afraid to kill a katsap? It's a pleasure. It's like a drug. It's already in the blood. That creature came here to kill children. It kills everything it can, it doesn't care. How can you tolerate this?” – “Pitbull”, the stormer, tells.

In a new interview from the “Generation storm” series, we get to know the fighters “Pitbull”, “Sherkhan” and “Marik”. These are experienced stormers of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, who shared stories about their battle path.

“Pitbull” dreamed of becoming a military man since childhood, and has been serving in the Ukrainian army since he was 18 years old. He fought his first battles in the east of the country, when russia first violated Ukrainian borders. Then he fought for Shchastia, Maryinka, Avdiivka, Vugledar and in the Bakhmut direction. Now he is fighting in the ranks of the Third Assault Brigade and together with the 3rd company is again crushing the occupiers near Bakhmut.

The fighter “Marik” had a civilian profession before the full-scale war. He lived with his family in Mariupol and worked as a craftsman in the now notorious Azovstal. When the occupiers launched their attack on the city, the territorial center of military recruitment of Mariupol no longer accepted volunteers. Thus, after five weeks of blockade and in the midst of enemy shelling, he managed to leave the city for Khmelnytskyi, where he joined the military service. He knew right away that his calling was to be a stormer. Today he is the acting platoon commander.
At the time of the greater invasion, “Sherkhan” was already a military serviceman and fought in Donetsk region. After getting to know the fighters of the SSO “Azov”, he received an offer to transfer and, without thinking for a long time, submitted the necessary documents. So he ended up in the Third Assault Brigade and started his path in this unit as a grenade launcher operator.

"To those who get here and think that an assault brigade is all bad. No. Assault unit means good training, much better equipment than in other military units. I’ve already been in many hospitals, I was on leave, I communicated with other servicemen from other units. They haven't even seen the equipment and weapons that we’re issued. The training that we have. The soul that we invest in our soldiers,” – mate “Marik” on what it means to be a stormer.
