on with the next bauhaus map. this one has particularly esoteric progression, starting with the shotgun in the first room. i'm not entirely sure what starts it moving on a cycle like that, and i'm not curious enough to open udb to find out. the next area, with the wide but shallow hallway, can be tricky to clear out, due to enemies surrounding the hallway on both sides, hiding behind pillars, as well as needing to make a couple round trips to open the path to the yellow key. the secret area is also stacked up with teleporters and can be pretty disorienting. the path back to the starting room is more straightforward as long as you have a plan to contain the archvile (hopefully you got the plasma?) that gives you a key to the exit...

...which is fake. it also teleports you a short distance, and triggers a kind of strange trap where enemies follow you out of the teleporter after you leave. getting through the next area is pretty delicate as there's archvile sentries, plus a number of other enemies ensuring sneaking under them is difficult. that might be the intended path however as there's three teleporters at the end of this area and it does seem like it should be possible to telefrag them. tracking down the exit switch itself took a little longer than i would have liked. at least the final fight is pretty spicy, and the real exit winds up being right next to the fake one. kind of a weird map, all things considered.
