On January 10, 2023, Jeff Beck passed away. I found out about it on the internet news. It was sudden and made me feel very sad.
As a tribute to Jeff Beck, I thought I'd pick something out of his repertoire and play it.
This song he covered with Rod Stewart seemed like a fitting tribute.

Since I am not a vocalist, I contacted my friends Stu and Kimi and asked them to sing this song.They readily agreed.

Stu provided some great vocal and chorus ideas for this song.

And Kimi was a musical companion when we were in our twenties, and we formed an acoustic unit together and performed every week. Therefore, he is my old friend and confidant.
By the way, he debuted on YouTube for the first time with this song.

We met Stu on YouTube and we've done a lot of Classic Rock covers over the years through numerous collaborations. The vocals by Stu and Kimi are wonderful. I am very happy to share it with all of you.

I also decided to include my wife, Caolin, in the women's chorus.

All of them were actually played and filmed with multiple cameras.
But the part with two guitars was overdubbed.

"People Get Ready" is a song written by Curtis Mayfield and first recorded by his group The Impressions in 1965. The song is considered a classic of the gospel-influenced genre of soul music and a symbol of hope and inspiration for many people. Its lyrics express a message of unity and call for people to come together and prepare for a better future. Over the years, "People Get Ready" has been covered by many artists in a variety of musical styles and remains a beloved and timeless anthem for peace, love, and equality.

Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart recorded a cover version of "People Get Ready" in 1985. This collaboration between two of influential musicians and powerful rendition of the classic soul ballad. Their version of "People Get Ready" became a hit and is considered one of the most iconic covers of the song.

Stuと私はYouTubeで知り合い、私たちは、これまでに数多くのコラボレーションを通じて多くのカバーをしてきました。

KIMIは私が20代の音楽仲間であり、当時、私たちは二人でアコースティック・ユニットを組んで毎週演奏していました。
私たちは今回、30年ぶりに一緒に音楽をやりました。気心の知れた彼が参加してくれたことは私にとって、とても嬉しいことでした。
ちなみに、彼はこの曲で、YouTubeデヴューを果たしました！
女性コーラスには、私の妻であるCaolinが参加してくれました。

尚、私のギター演奏は、全て、実際に演奏している生演奏を録音/撮影したものです。
それを3台のカメラによって、撮影しています（ギターが2本になるところは、オーバーダビングしています）。

テクニカルギタリスト全盛期にあって、独自のスタイルと歌心のあるギターはとてもインパクトがありました。
いつかカバーしてみたいと思っていた曲でしたので、今回、きっかけは、残念すぎるものの、こうしてこの曲に取り組めたことは、私にとっても貴重な経験になりました。
