Justin and Hailey Bieber Having Massive Marriage Problems Amid Fights Over Kids, Old Loves and More

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber were seen leaving Funke restaurant in L.A. after a quiet dinner date. They held hands in photos, but didn't look happy.

Later, Justin posted smiling and kissing photos on Instagram from the same night. Hailey commented, "We're cute." Fans thought Justin shared the pictures to address rumors about their relationship ending.

There might be truth to the rumors. A source told In Touch that Hailey, 27, is fed up with Justin, 29, being overly dependent on her emotionally. They argue about past relationships, behavior, and when to have kids. Friends are surprised they've stayed together this long.

Never Easy

They got married in September 2018 after dating intensely for just three months. (They briefly dated in late 2015 too). Hailey admitted they were both very young and has talked about the difficulties they've faced.

"Marriage is really tough," she told Vogue a few months after their courthouse wedding in NYC. "That's the first thing you should know. It's really, really tough." In 2022, she told Harper’s Bazaar that their relationship needs "a lot of effort to make it work."

According to a source, neither of them fully understood what marriage would be like, but Hailey has grown more than Justin. "Hailey has become a strong person," the source said. "Being a model, she's learned to handle stress, while Justin has been pampered his whole life. Sometimes Hailey sees him as a kid who hasn't grown up yet."


In 2022, their marriage faced more challenges when both of them had serious health issues — she had a ministroke, and Justin was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

These illnesses were tough on them. "Justin always depended on Hailey to support him whenever he needed it, which was most of the time, but she couldn't do that because she had to take care of herself," the source said. It made her see how their relationship was mostly one-sided.

No Escape

Justin's troublesome past is causing tension in their relationship. In 2013, he was filmed urinating into a mop bucket in a NYC restaurant; the next year, he faced charges for throwing eggs at his neighbor's house in Calabasas, California. In 2016, he punched a fan in Spain.

"He regrets some of the things he's done," says a source. "He attributes it to gaining fame at a young age and being surrounded by 'yes' people. But the image of him as a troublemaker has stuck."

He also had a reputation for being a player. "He had many short relationships when he was younger," says the source, mentioning that his team managed these situations.

"Hailey doesn't like hearing about this," says the source. They've had heated arguments over his past flings.

His on-off relationship with Selena Gomez is another sore point. "It bothers Hailey that Selena was there first, and that Justin went back to Selena after they first broke up," says the source. "For a while, Hailey felt like second choice."

Different Pages

Rumors suggest that Hailey might be emotionally distancing herself from the relationship and considering leaving to start anew. Last spring, there were talks of an emotional connection between Hailey and a male friend, which raised concerns about boundaries within their marriage.

Another issue is about having children. Justin expressed a desire for kids as early as 2019, but Hailey wasn't ready according to him. Justin has been vocal about wanting to become a young father, but Hailey worries about his readiness for parenthood and doesn't want to shoulder all the responsibilities if he's not mature enough.

Rough Road Ahead

Divorce discussions could get messy because Justin and Hailey reportedly didn't sign a prenuptial agreement. While Hailey is estimated to be worth $20 million, Justin's net worth is around $300 million. Splitting their assets might lead to disagreements.

"Even if they want to part ways peacefully, money talks can complicate things," says the source. Hailey hopes to avoid that scenario. "She really doesn't want to give up on her marriage," the source adds. "She's determined and willing to work on it." Friends are hoping Justin can improve his behavior before it's too late. "He can't imagine life without Hailey," says the source.
