The USMNT and Wales played to an entertaining 1-1 draw in both teams' respective first games of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Christian Pulisic and Tim Weah connected on a beautiful sequence in the 36th minute to grab a 1-0 lead over Wales. Weah became the first player to score against Wales in the World Cup since Pele did so in the 1958 Quarterfinals. Wales continued to show to resilience against USMNT and it was paid off in the 82nd minute with Gareth Bale's clinical penalty finish in the 82nd minute. 10 of Wales' 14 goals at their past three major tournaments has seen Bale or Aaron Ramsey either scoring or providing the assist.
