A highlight of Stuttgart’s event calendar is the jazzopen, which took place this year from 18-23 July, drawing a total of 45,000 visitors to 53 concerts on various stages. The central venue for this popular series of shows is the Schlossplatz in the heart of Stuttgart. This year, for the first time, it was equipped with a d&b Soundscape system.

This year’s jazzopen used a 180° setup based on seven flown arrays of d&b KSL modules. In each, two KSL8 (top) and five KSL12 (bottom) formed a compact, powerful line array. While the middle five arrays were aimed straight ahead, the two outer hangs pointed slightly outwards on the first days of the concert, serving as outfills. On Saturday and Sunday, following adjustment, they became part of the 180° Soundscape setup for the concerts by Joss Stone, Grace Jones, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Simply Red.
