BRING PROPANE TO YOUR RV. Rookie install a PROPANE BYPASS VALVE and pays the price! Was it necessary?

I have wanted to do this project since I started to boondock a couple of years ago but never got around to it because I had never ran out of propane yet.
However, now that the Minnie is stationary because I installed the winter RV around it and can't move it, so now this project was a must (so I thought).
And, even though it was 5 degrees outside, I had to get it done because the windows of opportunities to work outside during this winter in Utah, are very very limited.
Overall, it's one of the easiest projects I've done to the RV ever!
But, working under freezing temps made it quite unpleasant and extra hard because everything was super stiff.
Even I failed my first, soapy water, test for propane leaks because the water simply froze!
Upon further research, and after the matter, I realized that this bypass valve is not absolutely necessary as you can connect the built in propane regulator directly onto a propane cylinder.
Oh well, learning is never a waste...
Now I can bring the propane to the rv because I was able to install the propane bypass valve.
As a rookie, sometimes I pay the price of my lack of knowledge, but I still don't consider it a waste.
Is anyone reading these descriptions?
I wonder...
