Ramadan brings such beneficial spiritual and physical aspects that even non-Muslims are drawn to try out fasting. But one of the greatest benefits in this month is our focus on the Qur’an; those of us who pray the special additional Ramadan prayers each evening – Tarawih – already appreciate the beauty of its recitation and, if we understand Arabic, the impact of its meaning.

Indeed, the Qur’an itself is a great miracle, even called the ‘miracle of miracles’! It is inimitable; Allah has challenged those who question its divine source to produce even one chapter like it, but no one can do so. This in itself is a sign for those who are in doubt.

In this blessed month, ponder on its beauty and meaning, this will uplift our faith and understanding, insha’Allah.
