I wanted to do a big comparison after the smoke cleared with update 2.00. Looks like everything is as stable as it's going to be, so please enjoy!

Cyberpunk 2077 got it's last big expansion with Phantom Liberty earlier this year. With the update came big improvements to ray tracing fidelity. This is probably the best looking lighting system in a game right now, and all the updates and hard work has made it run "reasonably" smooth too! It will take one more big leap in GPU power to really run the game at 4k, but for now I'll take any path tracing I can get even if it needs DLSS 3.5, ray reconstruction, or any other kind of A.I. powered wizardry...

Settings I used are at the end of the video, every clip uses the new Ray Reconstruction feature introduced with DLSS 3.5. Last time I had a lot of complaints of overdrive being too dark, so instead of using the default 1.00 gamma setting, I used 0.90. Hope that being a bit brighter helps to see the difference! I also wanted a direct comparison of the best ray tracing has to offer vs off, so I omitted path tracing without ray reconstruction this time around. OD+RR means Overdrive with ray reconstruction. DLSS is on Quality and frame generation is on.

What do you guys think is the biggest impact of path tracing? What does it change the most and would you consider it a high priority for gameplay?
