Hiking Mount Baldy in the White Mountains....Sort of

So anyone who follow my videos knows I'm struggling with an achilles tendon injury. For those who are curious, the injury was caused by me being old. Age happens, apparently. It's torn, but not fully, so I can get around fine. But I've taken a good month off from hiking to try and recover. And recovery is going....well, I guess just watch and see how it's going.

I've been through my fair share of injuries, and I'm sure this one will heal with time and effort. But for now, it sucks.

Anyway, the White Mountains are one of our favorite places to go. The West Baldy Trail, in particular is amazing. Yes, it's popular. But it's also a long drive, so it doesn't seem to get crowded like a lot of trails closer to Phoenix. But it is absolutely amazing, and for so many reasons. First, the West Baldy Trail features the Little Colorado River. And pine trees. And aspen trees. And lots of bees and hornets....I haven't figured that part out yet, but man, bugs that sting love this trail. Never had an issue with them personally, but it's a thing, so you've been warned. We've made it to the top of Mount Baldy, or at least as far as you can go if you aren't a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, anyway. And it's amazing. Everything about the West Baldy Trail is amazing. If you haven't checked it out, you should definitely make plans.
