PlayStation Legacy Reborn debuts today with my documentation and review of the Battle Arena Toshinden Series by Tamsoft. This is a fighting game series that began on the launch day of the Original PlayStation. Sony themselves published the first Battle Arena Toshinden in the west as they wanted a 3D fighting game that could rival Sega’s Virtua Fighter which was one of the Sega Saturns biggest hitters at the time. Battle Arena Toshinden has a colourful history of 4 games, a mixed bag of characters (one even based off Michael Jackson) and some interesting tone shifts in the latest release, Toshinden 4 (2000).
