Chess is well-known for its many benefits, and has been added to school curriculums to improve student scores in math and sciences. A new study now shows it is also a powerful tool to prevent dementia. In this video I share comments made by Neil DeGrasse Tyson on the value of chess outside its field, and then show the new study published in JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association, which followed over 10 thousand senior citizens aged 70 or more for a period of 10 years. The conclusions were of statistical significance and I share them as well as thoughts on it.
