These are the most common scratches I see on cars, and they're easily preventable.
It may not seem like much, but over time the marring and scratching that you're causing by touching your paint when closing your trunk and doors really degrades your paint.
The solution? Get in the habit of using the interior trunk handles when closing your trunk or rear SUV gate.
Also, to close your doors, push on the glass or chrome instead of the paint. This prevents scratches because glass and chrome are too hard to easily scratch, but your paint is much softer.
