J admits that he loves his girlfriend, and he offers her a key to his apartment.

Season 1 Episode 6 'J Says'. As Gordon prepares to celebrate his six-month wedding anniversary, he and J take exception with a newspaper column by feminist Claire Logan. When he happens to see Claire walking down the street, J uses the opportunity to make his feelings known. And when offered a chance to give his point of view, J agrees to be interviewed for her column. Meanwhile, Gordon takes offense when Shari opts to keep her maiden name at work. Although J begins to worry about how his anti-feminist tirade will come off in the paper, he is pleasantly surprised when his controversial views prompt Claire's editors to want another interview. As a result, he's asked to share a column, one where he and Claire will present opposing views.
