All too often, I'll meet people around my age (mid-20s) or older, and they'll say that they don't have any hobbies, which is lowkey baffling to me. I want this Adulthood Hobbies series to be an inspiration to people to pick up something new for the first time. When we get too deep into our comfort zone, it can be difficult to get out. Trying something new for the first time can be daunting, but it can also be exciting. Pushing my brain to do different things makes life more fun. I've never tried to learn the piano/keyboard before 2022. At 26, I decided now's the time. While I have a musical background with playing the bass guitar since I was 11, the keyboard is still a whole new world for me. At the time of this upload, I don't have a formal instructor...just YouTube and my ears. I decided to document my journey going from zero to something, learning in "public". One of my major milestones in my keyboard journey is to play the intro to "Roses" by Outkast. The day I post a video of me playing that intro flawlessly will be the day that I have "arrived" as a budding piano/keyboard player.

In some videos, I may talk or not. In some videos, I may even bring in the bass guitar. In EVERY video, I will make plenty of mistakes. I'm telling you right now, this will not sound pretty...and that's the point. And to any piano/keyboard/organ/harpsichord players out there, feel free to give me advice. What do you wish you did differently when you first started learning the keys? What are some common mistakes that most beginner piano players make? What YouTube videos do you recommend I watch for tutorials or inspiration? To my fellow beginners, what's one song that you're currently learning or planning to learn? Learning how to play the piano is just another one of my many hobbies. Stay tuned for more.

This video is available in 4k.

Thanks for watching another multi.D.mensional production.
