Hello! How do you do everyone. Flew to Dhaka, Bangladesh yesterday conducting a check flight on another Captain(thats whybtwo Captains- (In case you’re wondering) and while on the ground there in transit, thought I’d show you this. It’s a fun short snippet about how we call the engineer/mechanic on the ground if we’d like to speak to them. The Horn or Hooter(British) switch is located on the aft aisle stand in the cockpit. We use it quite often to get the attention of maintenance personnel if they are not quite at the nose gear but in vicinity. As you will observe, even with the very noisy external environment with air conditioning PACKS running, APU running, loading vehicles beeping etc, it is still a distinct sound and can be heard above all that. It isn’t so much a Hooter but sounds more like a phone ringing. I also show you what is at the communications panel at the nosewheel for engineering use. They also have a call button to call the cockpit. Hope you like it, ‘Chi Di Gin! Later!✈️✈️✈️✈️
