I replayed Super Mario Galaxy on the Nintendo Switch and was reminded of the beautiful soundtrack. The music of SMG has a special place in my heart, and I still feel heavy emotions every time I listen to it. One of my favorite songs in the soundtrack is Rosalina's theme song, which is also the hub world music of the game.

I have seen a lot of arrangements of this song in the jazz ballad/jazz waltz style, with inspirations from jazz standards like "Someday My Prince Will Come" or "My Favorite Things," to name a few. Nothing is more fitting to me than interpreting this one in that style. The song speaks jazz waltz.

So I arranged it in that style! Though, I wanted it to have a bit of a "space" vibe with the usage of synths. I also wanted it to sound distant, like the mysteries of the universe in our perspective as human beings, so the synths were just drones in the background. Also, you might recognize that melody at the end, hehe! :)

As you have noticed, I have been posting a lot of live recordings lately on the channel, and I honestly feel like that's the trajectory the videos are going to. This video is my trial ground since I wanted to test if this one will work out for the better in the long run. And it is definitely pricey compared to the split-screen type/virtual band videos.
