The French carmaker’s new C5 X doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but Citroen says that just means it’s ahead of the game. So is it right?

Well, as I’m not from the future it’s hard to say at the moment but there’s a whole lot going on with the new C5 X. It has plastic bits on the side like a crossover, a long bonnet like a luxury limo and a shooting brake boot that gives it a very peculiar silhouette. There’s also nothing remotely sporty about it - the C5 X is all about comfort. There’s a new suspension system that irons out bumps and something called ‘Advanced Comfort Seats’ that feature a material similar to memory foam. And if you go for the PHEV version you’ll be able to drive for up to 34 miles in complete silence. So while the C5 X may look weird, it’s certainly got the numbers and features to grab your attention…
