In this video, we share with you what we did at Craters of the Moon in 1/2 of a day. We stopped at the visitor center to find out the best use of our time. First we hiked to the top of the Cinder Cone Trail and also walked the short Splatter Cone Trail and Snow Cone Trail. Then finally, we did a ranger walk to the Indian Tunnel Cave and was able to explore the cave on our own.
You must stop at the visitor center to get a cave permit before hiking and exploring any of the caves. After having a picnic (a short one because it was hot), we found a hot spring on the side of the road to enjoy.

We are a family of 4 who loves to travel. In 2019, we bought a 30 ft. travel trailer and decided to make our dreams happen by getting out on the road. Since then, we have upgraded to a 39' Fifth Wheel Mid-Bunkhouse and a 2018 Ford F-350 Diesel and are loving the upgrade for our family. We have always LOVED traveling and now seeing our world on the road has given us opportunities to see and make more memories as a family. We are teachers and are blessed to have the same "vacation" schedule, so we make the most of it with our kids by being both weekend warriors and by "school schedule" traveling--We call ourselves summer-timers. We hope to share what we learn while exploring this beautiful world around us and inspire you to get out and see it too.
