Israel has held a national funeral for Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, one of the six hostages found dead in Gaza on September 1, 2024. Thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv on the eve of the September 2 funeral. It was the second day of demonstrations criticising the government and calling for the release of the remaining hostages held in Gaza by Hamas militants.
