These step-by-step instructions explain how to remove and replace the cabin air filter on a 2017 Grand Caravan SXT, and these instructions will be similar for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan. Improve airflow and A/C performance with a new cabin air filter, which removes contaminants from the outside air before they enter your minivans cabin. Your 2012 to 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan's owner’s manual includes the recommended replacement intervals, but if your cabin air filter is dirty or clogged, or if you drive in environments that are heavily polluted, you can change the cabin air filter more often for better cabin airflow and comfort.

The cabin air filter in your Dodge Grand Caravan works to trap and remove contaminants like dust, dirt, and soot from the outside air before it enters your vehicle’s cabin, making sure that your A/C and heating system has a clean air supply. Additionally, replacing your 2012 to 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan's cabin air filter can help improve A/C system performance and airflow. Signs that your Dodge may need cabin air filter service include smelling odors from the vents, issues with the air conditioning, or an overall lack of airflow. If you’re unsure of when to replace your Dodge Grand Caravan's cabin air filter, check the service manual for the recommended replacement intervals. Breathe easy in your vehicle by changing the cabin air filter in your 2012 to 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan with these detailed instructions.

Release the dampener on the left side by lifting up on the glove box slightly… and slipping the catch out of the hold on the side of the assembly.

Your cabin air filter is behind a cover that’s secured by tabs on either side.

Take the old filter out.
Make sure there’s no dust or debris inside the housing.

Lift the glove box… and press in on the sides to reengage the tabs.
Reinstall the dampener by slipping the catch back into the hold on the side of the glove box assembly.
