Off-roader? From Volvo? Well... Kind of. The XC40 Recharge is no more capable than the regular XC40 off the beaten path, but oddly in the full EV segment if you want something more capable than this you'll need to buy a Hummer EV SUV or wait for the Rivian R1T/R1S. With more clearance than all but a handful of EVs, traction software with mild off-roading in mind, and a symmetrical motor layout, the plucky little Volvo EV is shockingly well rounded... As long as you're not looking for a long EV range that is.
