Released on 11th November 1977, Girls' School is the AA side to 'Mull Of Kintyre'. The single became the UK's biggest selling single ever until the Band Aid charity record in December 1984. It remains the biggest selling non-charity release of all time in the UK.

After 'Mull' became the big Christmas hit of December 1977, radio stations flipped over the single in January 1978, including Rado Luxembourg where ths song featured highly on the airplay chart for 10th January 1978 , this coupled with 'word of mouth' regarding the AA side resulted in many plays in pub Jukeboxes around the same time, all helping sustain the record's reign at the UK number one position until late January '78.
