Jean-Claude Van Damme is a martial artist, actor, screenwriter, and film director of Belgian origin, who is best known for his roles in action films. As an athlete, he won the middleweight full-contact world championship title in Orlando, Florida. From then on, he wanted to enter the American film industry at all costs: his first real success was the film Blood Game, although he was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award in 1988 for his performance, the film nevertheless proved to be a cornerstone in Van Damme's career. As an actor, he became known for his ability to do full spades during his stunts, as well as for his flexibility, which was unique even among martial artists.
At the height of his stardom, he arrived in Budapest in 1997, at the invitation of the Friderikusz Show.
