The first Xbox launched in 2001 and would sell impressively well for a brand new console- albeit overshadowed by the success of the PS2. However, Xbox gained a massive dedicated loyal fanbase thanks to Halo, Xbox Live, and so much more, setting Xbox up perfectly for the future.
