What’s one of the most important things to consider when shooting portraits?

The outfit! Choosing the right outfit style can make or break your portrait photos. But where can you get great outfits for your shoots? Well, thrift shops are a great source of hidden gems, often for very affordable prices.

In this video, I take you thrifting with photographer Steve Gindler (@cvatik) and Jessica Phoebs (@jessica.phoebs). In search of vintage outfits, we hit up a few thrift stores in the Boston-area.

After selecting a couple outfits, we head to Boston University and join up with our model for the shoot (Olivia). I take you behind the scenes of this vintage portrait shoot in a really cool spot. I think you’ll enjoy the video and the resulting photos :)
