Making an inkcap mushroom hat.
I used old cardboard boxes for this project.
I measured my heads circumference , and added an extra inch to make sure the hat will fit me after I coverd it on all the layes of fabric.
For fabric I used white (1m) and black linen (0.5m) and a lace trim.
I cut out a large circle from the white linen. Holding the fabric at the center point I dyed it with black fabric dye to get the ombre effect.
Once the fabric dried, I fitted it onto the hat and pinned the exess fabric and stitchit it so the fabric cover will be tight fit. I secured the fabric on the bottom of the cone shape using a stapler.
Using some black acrylic paint I shaded the bottom half of the cone and added some dotts and lines with white paint.
For the bottom base I glued black linen onto the cardbord, and hand stitched together the fabric on the wrong side to make sure it will stay in place.
I hand stiched the black lace onto the wrong side of the base before stitching the tow round bases together around the outer and the inner rims of the hat.
