In this video I speed test the TravlFi JourneyXTR 4G LTE Router & Wi-Fi Extender in real world scenarios ranging from 4G connections from all 3 of the big carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) to Wi-Fi connections, all while comparing it against the Winegard ConnecT 2.0 and my phone as a hotspot. Here are the questions I seek to answer:
1) Does the JourneyXTR get cell reception as good or better than the Winegard ConnecT 2.0, even without any external roof mounted antennas?
2) Does the JourneyXTR perform faster than the Winegard ConnecT 2.0 when repeating Wi-Fi networks?
3) Does the JourneyXTR outperform a cell phone hotspot?
4) Are the TravlFi 4G data plans a good value and worth it in the end?

I first heard about the TravlFi JourneyXTR while watching a Brinkley RV tour where it was featured in a prototype RV. Then shortly after I read a press release announcing Riverstone fifth wheels would also feature the TravlFi JourneyXTR. I've been using the Winegard ConnecT 2.0 for nearly 2 years and it works okay sometimes, but I haven't had the best experience with the Winegard overall. Thus, when I heard Brinkley RV and Riverstone selected to JourneyXTR as OEM equipment, I wanted to find out if it was really worth all the hype. Spoiler alert...it didn't disappoint.
