This project is for a Lapadary machine to do final polishing of gemstones such as diamonds.

It controls two RC servo motors, one to lift the tip where the stone is, 2nd to move the tip horizontally across a high speed polishing disk (iron disk). The stepping motor is used to rotate the tip 22.5 degrees 16 times for 16 facets.

The height is adjusted by clicking the calibration button which will lower the tip slowly until it reaches the microswitch. This sets the touchdown height to the disk.

The RUN button will begin the cycle. It lifts the tip, moves to the disk position, lowers to the disk and slides across it then lifts back up and back to the home position. It is done 16 times, one for each facet of the gemstone. There is another button to select the number of cycles, that is how many times it performs the 16 rotations.

The simulation is using a Nano but the actual design is using an Arduino Leonardo Pro Micro. OLED display for showing the settings selected.
