The demand for cheaper, faster, and more transparent cross-border payments continues to grow, driven by technological advances and rising customer expectations for ease and speed in global transactions. Concurrent with this trend regulators around the world are increasingly focused on improving cross-border payments in their respective jurisdictions and globally. This panel will assess a range of current initiatives in the marketplace to address cross-border frictions from bank, market infrastructure, and official sector perspectives, and consider the opportunities and challenges to realize the promise of instant cross-border payments.
