In 1962, Dell Comics and its long-time partner Western Publishing parted ways.

With the split, Western Publishing took its original and licensed properties and started Gold
Key Comics.

Many Dell employees made the transfer to Gold Key as well.


In an attempt to bounce back, Dell re-licensed Felix the Cat and launched a brand-new series
of books.

However, like many of Dell's books during this time, the series was poorly received and lasted
only 12 issues before ending in 1965.


Dell Comics would continue on for nine more years before ceasing publications in 1974.
