TikTok Viral Powder Foundation by Maybelline
The new and improved Maybelline Powder Foundation promises up to 24 hours of coverage with super staying power. This means a sweat resistant, water resistant, transfer resistant wear. It claims to resist caking and patchiness for a flawless wear ready for anything. Maybelline SuperStay Foundation is a hybrid formula, combining the performance of a liquid with the comfort of a powder. The coverage is buildable medium to full, more versatile with a brush, but claims fuller coverage with the included sponge.

Guys, I’m going to be honest… I don’t get why this Maybelline powder foundation went viral. What I will say is this: it applies flawlessly with a dense foundation brush and looks beautiful when first applied. The texture also allows any other powder products such as bronzer, blush to apply effortlessly overtop. But, the included applicator? It just doesn’t work. The application is patchy, the color isn’t true to what it really is. When applied with a sponge, specifically a damp sponge, the colors oxidizes, which makes me question the sweat/water resistant claims.

I had high hopes for this pressed powder foundation because it looked stunning at initial application, but it just didn’t wow me in any way. I got a solid 5 hours of wear from this Maybelline foundation before it started breaking apart, accentuating every texture and pore on my face. But, I will say, it didn’t contribute to any excess oils on my forehead which I was impressed by! However, it was weird – it didn’t look really oily, but when I touched my face, the powder foundation would turn into a creamy consistency that would ball up and disappear resulting with a patchy complexion. So, not a transfer resistant foundation like they claim. Going forward, I will most likely continue to use this powder foundation as a setting powder to get extra coverage where I need it.
