The Acura MDX Type S represents a solid upgrade to an all around good premium SUV, but... it comes at a fairly huge price. In a world of Kia Tellurides and recently redesigned Honda Pilots, can customers justify spending BMW X5. money for a model that starts just above the mainstream? The MDX Type S is certainly a more enthusiastic drive, but it's not quite enough to justify hiking the price by more than ten grand over fully loaded "regular" models.
