I have always enjoyed books and television based around post apocalypse, which is possibly why I am so drawn to abandoned locations. It is hard to trump a location like this, because everything about it is fascinating. This site is safe to visit, because even after billions of dollars spent, it never produced a single watt of electricity. Nuclear power is actually one of the cleanest and safest forms of electricity, but the track record throughout history has not made these power plants very popular among the masses. Walking around this site, seeing it 76% complete, the way it has been for nearly 50 years is a feeling I have not gotten anywhere else.

When this plan was approved in the late 1960's, there was meant to be five plant locations. Out of those five, only one was ever completed. This is the Satsop Nuclear Power Plant in Washington state, but it is known today as the Satsop Business Park. Some of the buildings are now rented and used by companies and corporations like NASA.

As amazing as this location is, the entire adventure was an absolute pleasure. Whenever I find myself at the coast, there is always an attempt to catch myself a nice crab feast, but unfortunately I was less than successful this time around. Crabs or no crabs, it is always a pleasure to be by the ocean and enjoy the beauty all around. The Pacific Northwest is a truly amazing place to visit and to explore.
