Thanks to @southwestfarms.tx for supplying the K-line irrigation system and parts for me to modify it! I first heard about these from Darren Doherty many years ago and am finally getting to experiment with one. Pretty powerful tool for applying water when and where it’s needed without putting in a costly, permanent irrigation system that can’t evolve as your land and operations do. By moving the irrigation system strategy we can take one of the biggest variables out of the equation, rain fall, because we can essentially make it rain when and where we need to. Of course, we still need to be good stewards of our shared water supply and we are using this system to jump start other systems that are already helping to capture and I soak more water then we are using to irrigate. Getting a good cover crop established is essential and making sure it is able to go to seed before it dies back compounds your investment so you don’t have to buy in and spread more seed next season.

I customized this system by adding a shut off valve and quick connect release at each section so it can be broken down and moved more easily around trees and other impediments in the landscape that would snag it up if dragged around as one piece.
