Valyria was once a minor civilization of peaceful sheep-herding folk dwelling on the Valyrian peninsula, until the Valyrians discovered dragons lairing in the Fourteen Flames. Eventually Valyrians conquered Ghiscar, drove away Andals and destroyed Rhoynar.
