Today i picked up a metal genuine toyota oil filter cap assembly. What this is it's basically just the plastic assembly cap that the oil filter goes into if you have a canister type filter. It's metal instead of plastic so here's what it looks like. It’s a genuine Toyota part obviously. This is actually a metal assembly instead of the plastic assembly that comes with the car from the factory. Just in case you're wondering, the one i got is the exact match as the one from the factory. You basically just have to take the seals and transfer them over. I picked up a new oil filter so when I put my new oil filter on it comes with the new seals.There's going to be one more seal inside of this drain plug that you're going to transfer over when you put the drain plug in. It doesn't come with the plug obviously you just transfer the plug over. I believe some people were mentioning if you have a tundra with a bigger engine basically, you just take the stem or the inside of this right here. The metal piece you could just take this from your old one and transfer it to the new one. For the rav4 this will work exactly the way it's supposed to right for the factory and this is what it looks like. I'm going to replace mine with a metal piece. I’m going to put a little bit of oil on the threads just to make sure that they don't lock or seize together. I have a mobile one filter. If you have the filter tool i am using the motiv-x filter tool which as you can see right here will fit on. it's gonna fit on the same exact way so it's gonna tighten it and loosen it exactly the same way you don't need those two extra wings or flanges over here even though that has it on this you don't need those you could choose the two fine so either way it's going to work just the same I would highly recommend getting one of these to take this on and off the motiv-x filter tool that thing is unbelievable probably the best filter removal tool i've ever used in my life motivex make some really great products so i would highly recommend this um that's about it so there you go here's the replacement just do it the same exact way i have another video which is pretty awesome i think if i do say so myself i did an oil change for the rav4 in another video uh reference that video on how to remove this and how to replace it and again you're just transferring the seals over to the new one that's all you got to do and again genuine toyota it's just metal this is going to handle a little bit higher pressure and other than that you should be good to go i would recommend putting some oil on the threads just to make sure that they don't cease once it's on the engine but again my call up to you what you want to do that's just my opinion totally up to you how you want to do it and the other thing too make sure you put some oil around here before you put the o-rings on obviously you want to put a little bit of oil there just to keep that lubricated and before you put the plug in obviously just clean this up pretty good and once it's nice and clean then you want to just put a little bit of oil here before you put that back on that's it it's all you got to do
