The historic Kennecott mining town is one of the last glimpses into Alaska's early days. We ventured into this abandoned town to tour the iconic red buildings, and learn more about the history of a town that was extremely important to the advancement of America in the early 20th Century. There is no way to truly describe the awe we felt wandering amongst the empty mining buildings perched on the mountainside, with views of the Kennicott glacier as far as the eye could see. We are so happy that we could share a piece of our adventure with you, and spread awareness of this beautiful relic hidden amongst the mountains. Although the journey to get here was by far our riskiest, the reward of getting to see this town in the quiet of winter was more than we could ever ask for.
