June Allyson and Jimmy Stewart present the award for Best Actress in a Motion PIcture Drama to Whoopi Goldberg for her role in "The Color Purple". Whoopi exclaimed, "This is the stuff you dream about. I'm not going to lie. I've never seen all these people before!" She thanks everybody at Warner Brothers, who took a big chance with her, Steven Spielberg, Bill Hurt, Judith Ivey, Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Willis, Cher, Maryl Streep and Diane Carol for inspiring her.
