Sam attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN). She subsequently completed a specialized internship at Endocrinology Specialists in Greenville, South Carolina. Sam is board certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center with a specialty in Family Medicine. She is also Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) from the American Association of Diabetes Educators, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) from the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education. In addition to her graduate degree, Sam holds undergraduate degrees in nursing and chemistry from the University of South Florida.
