Lotus root is said to be auspicious because it has holes through which you can supposedly see a good future.
The chips are made in the same way as the burdock chips that I made last time, but their texture and flavor are different, so you should try both.

~ingredients for 2 servings~
200g of lotus root
Vegetable oil
Salt and pepper
Garlic powder and green laver

~Directions~
1. Place vinegar and water in a bowl. Then peel the the lotus root and slice them. Soak them into the
vinegared water for about 10 minutes to prevent them from discoloration.
2. Drain the water and wipe the lotus root with paper towel.
3. Put the lotus root into the vegetable oil and heat on medium heat. Deep fry until they get crispy.
4. Sprinkle salt and pepper, and garlic powder and aonori or green laver.
