This November Measure K will be on your ballot. The title of the Measure is “Ordinance to revitalize commercial and industrial areas and protect residential neighborhoods”. Measure K does one thing and only one thing, “Removes residents' right to vote on high density projects in Costa Mesa”. This is City Council Majority’s latest workaround to Measure Y which was passed in 2016 by 68.4% of the voters.

On September 24, 2022, a group of concerned Costa Mesa residents met on the steps of City Hall to voice their concerns and communicate to you that Measure K is nothing more than a scheme to bypass the voter-approved Measure Y. If passed in November, this Measure will remove your right to vote and pave the way for Sacramento to build whatever it wants and wherever it wants in Costa Mesa, and the City Council Majority is doing nothing to stop them.
