This was our first time wild camping with hammocks. This trip was a chance to test out our new lightweight hammock set up. After a slow day exploring this woodland we set up camp just as dusk was closing in. Perhaps we were a little on edge because we were stealth camping.

When I was a child I was very interested in bushcraft but I forgot all about it for a long time. This trip was fun to rekindle my enthusiasm for this sort of thing.

This hammock shelter set up was good. However even though we learned quick release knots, it still was a little cumbersome to set up. We want to improve our skills in setting up these shelters but also perhaps adapt our gear to be more efficient.

When wild camping be sure to respect nature and leave no trace.
