The Seattle Public School District, Seattle Center and the One Roof Stadium Partnership have finalized a term sheet for a Memorial Stadium renovation and have now targeted mid-2025 for groundbreaking.

In an interview with KOMO News, leaders for all the entities agreed that the final term sheet is designed in a way to pour revenue back into the maintenance and operation of the facility, making it a true nonprofit entity upon its potential completion in late 2026.

Memorial Stadium, on the Seattle Center campus, has sat in the same spot since 1947 and includes a wall dedicated to school district students who lost their lives in World War II. It hosted events for the 1962 World’s Fair, countless concerts and high school and professional events.

But anyone who has lived in Seattle for any length of time can tell how it has deteriorated because of use and lack of maintenance.
